My Jimdo-Page

Michel KO

Studied art in Paris . Back to Bora Bora, he held his first exhibition on Raiatea island in 1970.

After the success of his first show, he decided to devote himself entirely to painting.

For 13 years, he participated in numerus shows in Bora Bora, Chili and France.

In 1979, he dicided to live alone on his private islet so as to devote more time to creation but, in 1983, he lost all his paintings in one night during the Veena huricane.

The passion for painting however was strong enough to enable him to start painting again, painting with his soul.

Living on a boat in Tahiti, the artist paints non-stop: he tells about Polynesian islands.

He paints on paper, cardboard, wood,or recently on canvas.

Whatever the medium (acrylic, gouache, oil), Michel KO is astonishing balance of and novelty and originality.

His painting expresses hope and blends contemporary art with Polynesian sensitivity.
